AnotherTicket Takes on the Touts
Four teachers offering a platform that could spell the end of fans being ripped off for their event tickets.
RUGBY UK, Jan. 1, 2016 - You will be aware that in the media recently, there’s been a lot of publicity about touts and resale sites ripping off events goers, but are you aware that a team of teachers began the fight-back in August 2014?
Officially in operation since August 2015, the Rugby-based company is run by four teachers who are regular events goers themselves, all of whom are equally incensed about how quickly tickets sell out due to dubious ‘bot’ software and other unscrupulous means. With tickets then being sold for grossly inflated prices on resale sites, ripping off fans and even irritating such high-profile names as Prince, Elton John and Adele, AnotherTicket’s mission is simple: #kickoutthetout
'The secondary ticket market is worth up to one billion pounds a year,' states AnotherTicket co-founder Matthew Butlin. ‘We’re here to put that money back into the hands of the fans.’ Imran Ilyas, CEO, adds, 'Whereas other companies that have since emerged with a similar ethos to AnotherTicket, we ask the sellers for only one to three pounds maximum to cover our costs, with face-value tickets subsequently being sold to genuine fans anywhere in the world.'
With an ethical premise at the heart of its mission statement, AnotherTicket also encourages charitable organisations to list and promote their events free of charge. Featured in local press and BBC Radio Coventry, AnotherTicket strives to offer fans the chance to buy and sell their own tickets ethically, when unforeseen circumstances occur. Ultimately, the team at AnotherTicket aims to mobilise its users and end touting altogether. With the increasing support of those using its platform, as well as artists and venue operators, this could well be a reality in the not so distant future.
AnotherTicket provides its consumers with a safe and secure platform to buy and sell any ticket at face value to genuine fans around the world. The main objective of AnotherTicket is to promote ethical buying and selling between fans.
AnotherTicket covers everything from concerts, comedy, sport and theatre – in simple words any event which requires a ticket! This means that we can get you into that event that you don’t want to miss out on, at face value, even if it has already sold out – ethically!
